Arnold House was founded in 1905 in St John’s Wood. It is an independent preparatory school located in London, NW8, for boys from 3 to 13, and a member of IAPS (Independent Association of Prep Schools). In our recent ISI inspection it was reported that pupils’ academic achievement and personal development are both excellent.

We are looking for a keen and committed PE & Games Teacher to join the Sports Department at Arnold House.

Arnold House is home to hugely enthusiastic boys (and staff), a supportive parent body, and a leadership team who really do value an all-round education. We have a comprehensive fixture list in the major sports (and minor sports too) with matches and tournaments taking place frequently during Games afternoons and the odd weekend.

Arnold House often enters teams in a range of IAPS events, and regularly enjoy success. Tours to St George’s Park for football, Belfast for rugby and hockey and the south coast for cricket are a highlight of each year. In addition to playing our home games at our wonderful grounds at Canons Park we also take teams to play at Lord’s for cricket, Allianz Park for rugby and the Olympic Stadium pitch for hockey each year.

In addition to there being many experienced, knowledgable and enthusiastic staff, boys at Arnold House benefit from the use of some of the very best sports facilities.

The Loudoun Road site has a carefully appointed gym, cricket nets, two basketball courts and six short tennis courts. The Canons Park Activity Centre, 30 minutes away in Edgware, has space for four football pitches, a 400 metre athletics track and six tennis courts.

Games curriculum

Autumn: Football, hockey, cross country, table tennis

Spring: Rugby, hockey, cross country, table tennis

Summer: Cricket, tennis, athletics.

PE curriculum

The PE curriculum is broad, varied and progressive. A wide range of sports are taught. They include volleyball, basketball, gymnastics, athletics, tennis, cricket, unihockey, badminton, circuit training, rock climbing, touch rugby, football and table tennis.
