The Headmaster and CEO of Eltham College Family of Schools and the Head of Blackheath Prep are seeking to appoint an talented and ambitious leader to assume the role of Head of Prep and member of the Senior Leadership Team at Blackheath Prep, part of the Eltham College Family of schools.

The postholder will have the opportunity to contribute directly to strategy, lead on projects and work closely with the Head and other members of the Senior Team in realising the school’s ambitious vision and strategic aims. As a school within the wider Eltham College Group, members of the Senior Leadership Team will also have opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across sites and develop their wider organisational understanding, with professional development and mentoring that will support them with their future career goals. The Head of Prep is supported by a Deputy Head of Prep.

The post holder’s primary responsibilities are to provide leadership within their Phase, assuming responsibility for the children, staff and quality of teaching and learning and pastoral care in Years 3 – 6. They will work closely with the Deputy Head and Head of Pre-Prep to shape strategy, develop stakeholder engagement, maintain and implement initiatives and to ensure and promote the success of the school as an educational establishment with positive outcomes for all. They will have specific responsibility for the day-to-day organisation and running of the Prep, pupil recruitment within their Phase, developing positive relationships with senior schools and the local community and management of staff.

The Head of Prep will be expected to be a full time member of staff and will hold teaching responsibilities, albeit on a significantly reduced timetable.
