Job Overview

Dair House School & Nursery is seeking an inspirational Headteacher to lead our thriving, family‑focused independent prep school (3–11). With exceptional pastoral care and a warm, close‑knit community, Dair House is a school where children are known as individuals and where staff feel supported, valued and empowered to give their best.

We are proud of our strong academic outcomes, excellent relationships with parents, and a nurturing ethos that enables pupils to flourish personally and academically. The next Head will build on these firm foundations while bringing strategic direction, visible leadership and a commitment to ensuring that Dair House continues to be a place where children thrive and staff feel inspired.

This role would suit an experienced deputy head ready for headship or an established Head seeking the autonomy and visibility that comes with leading a small standalone school. We are looking for a leader who is collaborative, approachable and child‑centred, someone who understands the unique strengths of a small school, values community, and is committed to maintaining the warmth, ambition and high expectations that define Dair House.
