This is an exciting opportunity for a new graduate from September 2026. We are looking for candidates with a range of interests and specialisms to work within our busy Prep school for the next academic year.

Our one-year residential post provides valuable support to our teachers, classroom learning and the school’s boarding experience, as well as an exciting and ideal opportunity for graduates who are considering a career in education to experience a year in the life of our vibrant and successful school.

We aim to offer our Resident Graduate Assistant a memorable year working with energetic and inspiring pupils within a co-educational environment. The school will provide accommodation throughout the year and free meals courtesy of our onsite dining room during term time. In this paid role you will also have opportunities for continuing your professional development and training. If you have a particular talent or specialism (such as Art, DT, Languages, Music, Science, Maths, Drama) that you would like to tell us about and explore during your residency, we would love to hear all about it!

This experience provides a platform for various career progression paths. At the end of your residency, you will have achieved positive results both personally and professionally and you will have developed skills and experience of considerable value – particularly if you decide to continue your career in teaching.

Set in 150 acres of stunning parkland in rural West Berkshire, Elstree welcomes boys and girls aged 2-13 years. Originally founded in 1848, it moved to its current location in 1939 and opened its Pre-Prep school in 1993. It offers boarding, both flexi and weekly, from Year 4 onwards.
