About this Role
We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and personable Admissions Executive to join our busy, high-performing Marketing & Admissions team. It's a significant time of growth and development for the team. You'll play a vital role in shaping the experience of every family considering Hurst for the Senior School and Sixth Form.
Working at Hurst
Hurst is one of Britain's leading independent schools, offering a vibrant and supportive environment for both pupils and staff. With almost 1,300 pupils across our Senior and Prep Schools, we combine academic ambition with a strong sense of community and a rich co-curricular programme.
Hurst is a place of genuine momentum. From the classroom to the sports field, and the theatre to the boarding house, life here is rich, varied, and relentlessly rewarding.
Ours is a community that sets its sights on excellence – not as a destination, but as a daily habit. The people who thrive here are those who bring the same ambition, resilience, and commitment that we ask of our pupils.
You'll enjoy working in a stunning rural setting while remaining well-connected. We're just 20 minutes from the city and beaches of Brighton & Hove, and London is under an hour away by train. We also offer a vast range of staff benefits, including free meals during term time, use of our exceptional sports facilities, access to wellbeing initiatives, and extensive opportunities for professional development.
This isn't just a job. It's a commitment to something bigger. For the right person, there is nowhere more exciting to be.
The Admissions Team
Our admissions team is often a family's very first experience of Hurst, and we take that responsibility seriously. As Admissions Executive, you'll guide prospective families through their journey from first enquiry to enrolment. You'll be their welcoming, knowledgeable point of contact, and you'll make sure every application moves smoothly through iSAMS.
You'll lead a full calendar of admissions events: Open Mornings, Assessment and Scholarship Days, Taster Days, Information Evenings, Offer Holder and New Parent events. You'll run them from first plan to feedback, working with colleagues across catering, facilities, academic and pastoral teams, and with our pupil ambassadors. You'll also represent Hurst at senior school fairs and feeder school events, building strong relationships in the wider community.
Behind the scenes, you'll keep our admissions data in excellent shape. You'll produce weekly reports for the Director of Marketing & Admissions on enquiries, conversion rates and forecasts, and help spot the trends and opportunities that drive our recruitment success.
Who We're Looking For
The successful candidate will be exceptionally organised, with outstanding attention to detail and the confidence to manage several projects at once. They will be a warm and professional communicator, comfortable with data and systems, and will put the experience of every family at the heart of everything they do. As admissions events take place throughout the year, some evening and weekend work will be required, including Saturday Open Mornings.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in an administrative, admissions, customer service or operational role.
- Experience of coordinating events, projects or multiple workstreams at the same time.
- Confidence using databases, CRM or pupil management systems, with excellent Microsoft Office skills.
- Confident and personable on the phone, with the ability to quickly build rapport with prospective families.
- Strong experience of data management, reporting and analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
- Previous experience in a school setting and an understanding of the admissions journey, from first enquiry to enrolment, would be an advantage.
What We Offer in Return
- A competitive salary and benefits package.
- Free dining and refreshment facilities during term time.
- Free on-site parking and use of our sports facilities, including the gym and swimming pool.
- Contributory BUPA health insurance, an on-site Mind Clinic and an Employee Assistance Programme.
- An engaging and collaborative environment in a busy, supportive team.
- Extensive professional development programmes, together with career opportunities across the College and Hurst Education Trust.
- And a host of other excellent benefits.
Hurstpierpoint College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
