Summary

King's Ely are looking to recruit a well qualified, enthusiastic and highly committed Teacher of English.

Detail

The postholder’s duties will involve, but will not necessarily be limited to:

Teaching high quality English lessons for Year 9 to Year 13; to stimulate and encourage pupils’ learning;

Setting high expectation of pupils, both in academic achievement and behaviour;

Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation, which leads to the teaching of challenging and differentiated lessons in the classroom;

Setting and marking prep (homework) in line with school and department policies;

Undertaking regular reviews of pupils’ academic progress and acknowledging student success;

Keeping good records of pupil achievement and progression;

Setting targets to improve the quality of learning and complete regular reports for pupils according to the school calendar;

Establishing good professional relationships with staff, learners and parents;

Liaising with pupils and parents at Parents’ Evenings throughout the school year;

Contribute and help develop extra-curricular learning opportunities and trips when required.
