The King's School is seeking a French Language Assistant to join our vibrant Modern Foreign Languages Department. This is an exciting opportunity for a native or near-native French speaker to make a meaningful impact, helping students develop their fluency, cultural understanding, and confidence in the language.
Working an average of 20 hours per week (depending on pupil numbers), you will lead engaging individual and group conversation sessions with GCSE and A Level students, support bilingual learners, and assist in exam preparation particularly the speaking component. You will also play a vital role in the department's wider activities, including clubs, trips, and academic research support.
We are looking for someone with a strong academic background in French, excellent communication skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for Francophone language and culture. Experience teaching or supporting young people, and familiarity with UK examination standards (AQA), are highly desirable.
