Detail

We are looking to appoint an Apprentice Science Technician (Chemistry) to join our Science Department and play a valued role in supporting teaching and learning across the School. Working closely with teaching staff, you will provide a full range of technical support, including the preparation, maintenance and organisation of resources and equipment, helping to ensure that practical science lessons run smoothly and safely.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the beginning of their career, or someone looking to change direction, who is keen to develop their skills within a supportive educational environment. The successful candidate will be supported throughout a formal apprenticeship programme, combining practical, hands-on experience with structured training and development. Alongside the apprenticeship, you will benefit from guidance, mentoring and opportunities to build confidence and expertise in a busy and successful department.

You will bring strong interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, work calmly under pressure and contribute positively to a collaborative team. Reliability, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn will be key to success in this role.

This is a full-time, term-time only position (34 weeks), working 37 hours per week. Hours are 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, and 8.30am to 4.00pm on Fridays. A competitive apprenticeship salary is offered, in the region of £12,500 per annum (actual), depending on qualifications, skills and experience.

In return, Kingswood School offers a welcoming and supportive working environment, a strong commitment to training and development, and a generous benefits package. This includes free refreshments, use of the School’s sports facilities, discounted school fees (conditions apply), and matched pension contributions.
