Graduate Sports Assistant

Summary

We are seeking a friendly, active and responsible individual to join St Swithun’s from September 2025 until July 2026 as a graduate sports assistant.

Detail

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who may want to consider a teaching role in the future, or for a recent sports graduate.​

You will work with the teachers and coaches in the PE department to support the coaching and umpiring of sport; ideally you will have played netball or lacrosse to at least club level (experience of both would be an advantage). ​

There is also an option to live and work in one of our boarding houses. If you decide to do this you would support and assist a housemistress/master to ensure the smooth running of the boarding house. You would work closely with other members of the house team and would provide practical support and pastoral care to the girls in the boarding house.​

You will work full time during term time, including some evenings and at least every other weekend, but you will not be required to work during the school holidays. You will have a day off during the week. If you decide to also live in the boarding house, then your time will be equally split between sports and boarding duties.​

To work at St Swithun’s you must have the right to work in the UK; we are not able to sponsor visa applications. If you decide to be resident in a boarding house, because of the personal nature of some of the care that may be required, and in order to provide a safe environment for the girls in the boarding house, it is an occupational requirement for the job holder to be female.​
