  • Full-time

Summary

The Froebelian School is seeking to appoint an inspirational, creative and highly-skilled Director of Studies, with responsibility for our Yr6 class, to join our lively and thriving school in the Spring Term 2021 (exact date to be confirmed).

Detail

Along with the ability to deliver outstanding and engaging lessons, the successful candidate should also possess the key leadership qualities required to lead the monitoring, evaluation and development of the curriculum, teaching and learning assessment practices.

At Froebelian, we aim to deliver an holistic and future-focused education, blending tradition with innovation, which inspires children to become life-long learners equipped with the skills and attributes they will need for successful lives. We provide an outstanding learning experience, with high inspirations and expectations for all our children, delivered within a safe and nurturing environment.

The position would suit a teacher with a career in maintained primary or prep schools. The applicant must have classroom teaching experience, relevant qualifications and be willing to contribute to the wider life of this busy, exciting and successful school.

The preferred candidate will:

• provide leadership by example;

• have the competence to lead, manage, develop and inspire people individually and as a team; developing collaborative relationships with all colleagues;

• think creatively and imaginatively, investigate, solve problems and identify opportunities;

• promote our core values of kindness, tolerance, respect and integrity;

• have the desire to promote high standards and effective teaching and learning;

• have experience of monitoring, tracking and supporting pupils;

• have a commitment to the welfare and achievement of the children in their class.

This is a very exciting time to be joining the team. A recent investment in digital learning opportunities is impressive and underlines our belief in building on the past whilst embracing the future. The governors and Senior Leadership Team have recently developed a strategic plan to further cement the School’s place as one of the leading preparatory schools in the area. Implementation of the strategy is now underway and the Director of Studies will be instrumental in its successful delivery.

The Froebelian School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff will be expected to hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS disclosure and full safeguarding checks as well as satisfactory references. The Froebelian School is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from all suitable candidates, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age. All applications are treated on merit.

If you wish to apply for the role, please send a completed application form including details of two referees to Andrea Lee, Head’s PA, at office@froebelian.co.uk or by post to the school address.

Closing date: Midday on Friday 25 September 2020.
