Science Teacher required for September 2021 for maternity cover
The Hawthorns School is a thriving prep day school for children between the ages of 2 and 13. Located on an idyllic 35-acre estate in Bletchingley, Surrey, our mission is to prepare each child for life and to inspire a love of learning.
We are seeking a highly motivated and inspirational teacher with a passion and depth of knowledge to join our Science Department in September 2021 for a maternity cover position. Responsible for teaching high quality lessons to pupils in Years 5 to 8, including preparing pupils for scholarship and senior school examinations, candidates should have a suitable teaching qualification and relevant experience of teaching science to children in KS2 and KS3. Candidates should have a strong academic vision, inspire high standards in the classroom, show initiative and be prepared for wider involvement in co-curricular activities. A desire and ability to offer the teaching of Computing as an additional subject would be considered favourably. The ability to lead the department would also be advantageous.
This role is fixed term for up to one academic year and offers a salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. Full-time or part-time considered. Further details and an application pack are available on our website or from our HR Manager, Emma Mitchell.
