Our Modern Languages Department is seeking to appoint a native speaker of French to the post of part-time, term-time Language Assistant to conduct conversation lessons in French, principally with pupils in Years 10 to 13, for 8 hours per week.

The Portsmouth Grammar School is a leading co-educational school located in the historic heart of Portsmouth. The Modern Languages Department is seeking to appoint a native speaker of French to the post of part-time, term-time Language Assistant to conduct conversation lessons in French, principally with pupils in Years 10 to 13.

The post is for 8 hours per week, term time only, and the start date will be as soon as possible.

French is one of three languages taught to GCSE and results are very good, with many pupils going on to study the subject in the Sixth Form. The department is well-equipped with one language laboratory which is fully computerised with multi-media facilities.

The closing date for receipt of applications is midday on 25th September 2025 and interviews will be scheduled to take place on the school site in the week commencing 29th September 2025 with a provisional interview date of 30th September 2025.
