Twickenham Preparatory School (TPS) is an independent, coeducational, day school for children aged 4 - 13, situated in South West London. TPS has a reputation for being nurturing and pastorally strong with high academic standards and a broad curriculum.
We are seeking a well-qualified, experienced Head of Learning Support to lead our well established and highly regarded department. This is a key role in supporting the ethos of the School, by ensuring we cater for the needs of all our pupils. We seek to approach each child as an individual and cater for specific and individual needs. We recognise that some pupils require additional support in school, either short-term or on a long-term basis. We aim to identify children who require support as early as possible to ensure that the most appropriate and helpful support is put in place, in order for them to develop effective learning strategies that will allow them to achieve their true potential. Some of this support is provided in small groups, some individual, some before school or some as part of normal lessons. We work with experienced professionals, including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists and Dyslexia Teachers to ensure that provision for the pupils is informed and well directed.
Our main aim is to enable pupils to learn effectively, build their self-confidence and encourage independent learning. This is achieved by working with teachers, pupils and parents across the School.
