Contract:
- Mondays: 10.15 am - 12.45 pm & 1.15 pm - 5.00 pm (6.15 hrs)
- Wednesdays: 10.15 am - 12.45 pm & 1.15 pm - 5.00 pm (6.15 hrs)
Salary: £36.06 per hour
The closing date for applications is midday, Friday 29th August 2025. Interviews will take place week commencing 8th September.
This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding Sports Coach, specialising in at least two of our core sports; football, hockey, or cricket. They will be fully involved in all fixtures and training sessions during the week, including Games afternoons.
The Sports Coach is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of an effective sports coaching programme, working with players in Years 3 to 8. The coach will assist the development of players of all standards positioning Westminster Under School as a sporting school of the highest calibre.
The Sports Department at Westminster Under School is one of the busiest but most exciting departments in the School. Pupils in Years 3 to 5 have three hours of Games per week and those in Years 6 to 8 have four hours of Games per week.
They will report directly to the Director of Sport at the Under School.
- Supervising sports activities
- Refereeing and umpiring games and matches
- Deliver, plan and evaluate coaching sessions that are focused on pupil safety, structured, progressive, enjoyable and high quality, for all ages, abilities and levels of experience
- Keep accurate registers of attendance
- Be available to attend school fixtures on Saturdays and other ad hoc days as requested by Director of Sport
- Ensure kit and equipment used for sessions or fixtures is left in good order and tidied away after the activity
- Complete results sheets and other administration such as match reports immediately after fixtures
- Assist the Director of Sport in a range of administrative duties as required
General Responsibilities
- Maintain a high level of professionalism in terms of attendance, punctuality and engagement with pupils and parents
- Maintain own professional development, keeping up to date with legal requirements including safeguarding and child protection
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality of information, relating to the school and its staff and maintain compliance with the Data Protection Act
- Adhere to the School’s Health and Safety Policy at all times
