Woodford Green Preparatory School is seeking to appoint an experienced and suitably qualified woodwind teacher with a specialism in oboe to join our team from September 2026. This is a part-time post for one and a half hours per week on a Tuesday with the possibility of growing these hours.

All of our Visiting Music Teachers are self-employed, with fees paid directly to the Visiting Music Teacher.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be an experienced and suitably qualified woodwind teacher with a specialism in oboe teaching. Requirements of the role:

  • Teaching oboe and flute from age 6+ and possibly other woodwind instruments
  • Preparing pupils to take graded exams
  • Writing reports annually
  • Writing and maintaining a termly timetable that is shared with the Director of Music
  • Understanding a busy school environment and how that can affect children and timetables
  • The ability to be flexible and stay on top of emails

About You

We are ideally looking for an experienced and suitably qualified woodwind teacher with a specialism in oboe, who is deeply passionate about nurturing their pupils' musical development. We welcome applications from post-graduates who are looking for teaching experience too.
